How history ultimately views him—whether as a leader limited by exceptional challenges or as someone who could have done more with the power he held—will hinge on the nation's future direction and the lasting effects of his leadership.
In the end, a fair evaluation acknowledges that South Sudan's advancement relies not just on the President but also on strong institutions, responsible governance, political unity, and the active involvement of all segments of society.
